Privacy notice

Rare Disease Alerts, by Discus Ventures. Effective 2026-09-14.

What stays on your phone

The conditions you follow, what you have read, and every setting are stored on your phone only. There are no accounts. The service cannot associate a person with the conditions they follow.

What the service receives

When the app checks for updates it asks the service for the public records of each condition you follow, one condition at a time, with nothing that identifies you. When you search, only the words you type are sent. When you scan a medicine's package, only the code from the barcode is sent, never a photo.

Notifications

Notifications are off until you turn them on. If you do, your phone sends the service a device token issued by Apple and the list of conditions you chose. The service stores a hash of the token, the token itself encrypted, and the condition list, and uses them only to send you notifications. Turning notifications off removes the registration.

Server logs

The web server keeps access logs for thirty days for abuse protection, with the last part of the IP address removed and no query strings.

What we do not collect

No analytics, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDKs, no health data, no location, no contacts. The app holds no information about you beyond what is listed above.
